First and foremost a special thanks to Glenn for making me aware of this series in the first place, and a shoutout to tokyopop for licensing some good manga among this moeblob dominated market.
Spoilers ahead.

The following commentary is an independent opinion from an author of the Nerdfit Network. No compensation, monetary or otherwise, has been received prior or after the publication of this article.
Most people saw the price tag for Left 4 Dead 2 and exclaimed foul play. For what was once to be downloadable content would now be an entire new disc for the wonderful price of $60.00. However, instead of asking, “Is it worth the price?”* I ask you all one simple thing, “How much has changed?”
Read on to understand why I love and hate Left 4 Dead 2 (and to see what the asterisk notates.)

At the request of Marco, one of my EDM brethren, I took it upon myself to watch and review Howard The Duck. It’s probably the strangest b-movie I’ve reviewed so far in that it was never really intended to be a b-movie. Directed by George Lucas with what I can only assume was a half decent budget, it was set to be a mainstream blockbuster. It tells the story of Howard, a sentient duck from a planet filled with sentient ducks who, thanks to an incomprehensible plot device, finds himself on our planet. It’s a fish, or should I say duck, out of water scenario that can only lead to hilarity. That is unless it’s a pathetic flop of a movie who’s constant duck-based puns make my attempt look witty and original in comparison.

A lesbian, biker girls, zombies, dwarfs, blind kids, a mad scientist and some small town hicks make up the cast of Chopper Chicks In Zombie Town. It’s a recipe for offense and disgust from everyone’s favourite b-movie studio: Troma. It even has that delicious b-movie treat, a small role for someone who would later become an a-list celeb. In this instance it’s Jolie-shagging archetypal redneck Billy Bob Thornton who makes an appearance.
The chopper chicks in question are an all-female biker gang named ‘Cycle Sluts’. It’s not the most subtle of monikers for their ragtag group but it’s reasonably accurate insofar as they ride motorcycles and revel in their promiscuity. Led by a bitch-from-hell lesbian stereotype they apparently travel the highways of the USA looking for trouble, sex, booze or ideally a combination of all three. The story opens with their arrival in a town so small and fictional I can’t actually recall the name. Sufficed to say they soon encounter the promised zombies that were created by a mad scientist to mine for uranium under the town. After getting past the requisite “we don’t take kindly to your kind of people round here” routine, we get some zombie killing and a trite reconciliation with the town that initially spurned the Cycle Sluts.

So, if you’ve listened to 2 Guys 1 Mic before, you should know that I love chiptunes much like how my fat brethren love cake. If you’ve seen me at conventions or playing video games, you’ll know that I LOVE Guilty Gear and its ever-so-amazing soundtracks. If you could combine the two, I’d be having a nerdfit from the awesome overload.
OH WAIT, HEY THERE INVERSE PHASE. WHAT, YOU HAVE A SURPRISE FOR ME? I CAN ONLY WONDER WHAT IT COULD BE?

HELL YES. I’LL TAKE SIX COPIES.

Wondering where the hell Nerdfit has been in the past week? Dead, that’s where. Between two conventions, moving, reports, and Thanksgiving we’ve had our hands tied up pretty well for the past week. So here we are, one week after Another Anime Convention 2009, and I’m finally going to drop some thoughts and reflections on your brains. Feel free to join me in the comments section. When it comes to this type of music I’m extremely biased, so along with the review I’ve decided to do a very brief retrospective, skip the next two paragraphs to get to the actual review.

Yeah, I love using my own sloppy photos,

We’re kickin’ it old-skool this week with a trip back to the 50’s. Rock ‘n’ Roll was a burgeoning force, youth culture was just entering into existence and you could still get away with dragging a black man 20 miles down the road without some pinko calling you a racist. Glory days indeed. More importantly, the 50’s saw sci-fi take over from westerns as the prime b-movie genre of choice. Starring Steve McQueen as the least convincing 17 year old in cinema history, The Blob pretty much defines the ‘classic’ b-movie as we know it.

This is my weapon
You want a nerdfit? I’ll show you a nerdfit.
It’s 1:00 pm and you’re sitting in the instruments lab, just you, your sample, and this monster of a machine. You place your vial on the rack, and hit the start button. The auto-sampler mechanical arm moves in to grasp your sample, making you feel like you’re an important scientist. The syringe extracts a small volume of the sample from the vial, about 5-10 nL or so. Then the liquid begins to move through the column, and the uv-vis starts spitting out data. 1 minute, nothing before the dead time, good. Then noise. Noise. Noise. Noise. Noise. Noise. Noise. Noise. Noise. Noise. Noise. Noise. Noise. Noise. Noise. Noise. Noise. 10 Minutes in, still noise. Fuck. You switch to a gradient. Noise. Noise. Noise. Noise. Noise. Noise. Noise. Noise. 30 Minutes in, nothing. Your sample wasn’t concentrated enough. Fuck, back to the lab to prepare another sample. 3 Hours later you finally get useful data. For a science so exact on paper there can be a ton of variables in the lab.
