So, if you’ve listened to 2 Guys 1 Mic before, you should know that I love chiptunes much like how my fat brethren love cake.  If you’ve seen me at conventions or playing video games, you’ll know that I LOVE Guilty Gear and its ever-so-amazing soundtracks.  If you could combine the two, I’d be having a nerdfit from the awesome overload.

OH WAIT, HEY THERE INVERSE PHASE.  WHAT, YOU HAVE A SURPRISE FOR ME?  I CAN ONLY WONDER WHAT IT COULD BE?

HELL YES.  I’LL TAKE SIX COPIES.

Inverse Phase is a chiptune artist that has been around in the music scene for at least a few years, and has managed to somehow make the Guilty Gear OSTs even more appealing to through the magic of chiptunes.  Although this was originally planned to be a collaboration between a bunch of chiptune artists.  All of them had one creative challenge:  What if the Guilty Gear series came out for the NES?

Many parts of the project fell through before their fruition, and therefore Inverse Phase stared into his equipment and said to himself, searing with the flames of gentlemanly determination, “Disregard females;  Acquire currency.”

The product, of course, is a relatively short (although incredibly awesome) EP of ten covers of various songs from the game.  While it may only cover 5 characters;  Inverse Phase also gives you the atmosphere of you’re actually playing the game by including other songs and quick jingles that are used within the game prior to and after a match.  The only issue is that you keep getting your ass handed to you by the Korean #reload version of Ky Kiske.

Feel ten tracks is just too short? BUT WAIT, THERE’S MORE! It’s time for you to calm your boner because he includes the original tracks played along the chiptunes so you can hear how the two match up!
