My first glance at The Megas were at Game UniCon during their Friday night concert. I didn’t want to listen to them online; I wanted to get my first impression from seeing them live on stage. When they first came on, I heard their Dr. Wily Stage 1 & 2 cover named I Want to Be the One. I was sold instantly.
If you can't tell already that these guys are awesome, smack yourself.
The Megas take the robot masters level and a few other particular Mega Man 2 themes, turn them into badass covers, and then throw on ingenious lyrics. You haven’t listened to Mega Man 2 music until you’ve heard their first album, Get Equipped, nevermind hearing them live.
If you want an example of how badass they really are, I urge you to listen to “The Message from Dr. Light.” The Megas take the level select tune and turn it into a badass moment of Dr. Light having his worries about Mega Man in the fight against Dr. Wily. Other tracks worth noting, aside from the entire album, are the following:

- Blue Like You (Flash Man)
Don’t take this as me cutting the album short; The entire album is nothing but amazing. Every robot master’s personality and identity is a brilliant portrayal of what you could consider a whole new world in the Mega Man 2 storyline. Then again, Capcom wasn’t the type to spend a lot of money on character development or storylines back then.
This album has only made me excited to see that they have a new EP out, which is in cooperation with Entertainment System, called Megatainment. Since I don’t own that yet, I can’t tell you more about it than the Elec Man track makes it sound like an awesome, heavier prequel to their first album.
